Seriously, I do love winter. I much prefer cold over hot. At least, I think I do. I have lived in some pretty temperate climates, so who knows how I will handle Kansas. It's supposed to be cold there.
The snow here began around 9:30 a.m. today and it is still coming down as I post this 9 hours later. It is beautiful. The parade field is now covered in white & it just looks like Christmas. Caroline and I made a miniature snowman and had a snowball fight that was just my speed. We then came inside and immediately fell asleep on the couch together. What a great way to spend life.
Mattie, on the other hand, was at school playing in the snow with her friends. She has the best pair of snow boots out of the four of us. Good thing they were home with me today. She had on crocs!! Luckily I made her wear socks. See, the weather man said the snow would start in the city around 5pm. HA! Don't they let those guys have windows? When I dropped the kids off at 8:30, their ballfield was already covered in snow. In my defense, it hadn't snowed a flake at home.
One day post-accident and all is well. The insurance company is already working to get the lady's car repaired and will provide a rental car for her while her car is in the shop. It has been a long time since I have looked at our policy, so I am glad we made good decisions!
Felipe' spent his day in a bowl on the bookshelf. I am going to miss that little guy!
Hoping for a snow day tomorrow...more snowmen and hot chocolate and maybe some movies, too! This time with Mattie (and her boots).
