Derick is working late due to a visit by a VIP. He cancelled our "grown-up meal" and I am pretty disappointed. Steak and crabcakes were on the menu. I can never top that on my own! Nor do I want to. How lucky am I that my husband is not only a GREAT cook, but finds preparing gourmet meals a great way to unwind at the end of a long day. Yay for me and my decision-making skills!
Caroline's cold is much, much better. That didn't prevent her from throwing a huge tantrum at dance class. This is the third week in a row she has not wanted to go to dance, so I whisked her out of there and had a little tantrum of my own. I think it is pretty clear that we will be going next week without any fuss. As is typical of my children, the whole thing started with shoes. I understand that issues of the foot is a Steed trait. Personally, I will tolerate any level of discomfort as long as the shoe looks good.
Mattie took her money and herself to the book fair at her school yesterday. She purchased both the books we agreed on from her wish list. She is such a big girl! Mattie has a hard time hearing anything when she is reading. (According to Derick, this was directly inherited from me. I think he is correct). Below is a picture of her completely involved with her Star Wars book. We finally took it away from her so that she would eat! For those of you who know Mattie, the girl likes to eat.
I am burning DVDs of all of our pictures. That was my "excuse" for buying a new computer. It has only taken me a year to get it done! If any of my family members out there are procrastinators, I can attribute that to genetics too.
