House in Leavenworth

Derick and I arrived (or should I say, re-arrived) in Leavenworth today. Our flight was uneventful and I got to sit in first class since I was traveling with a buddy pass. Poor Derick had to sit with the normal people.

We went straight to our new/rental house. I think that we are really going to enjoy living here. The house is much bigger than anything we've lived in as a family and I know that we are going to enjoy spreading out and having space. I will warn anyone who is planning to visit us (and yes, we will have a guest room)...the living room is painted in a shockingly bright yellow. A bit to bright for our tastes, but I think that we will be able to hide a lot of it when our stuff arrives on Wednesday.

Tomorrow we will be shopping and cleaning. Yay. If I find that cord, I will send pics.

It' Been A While...

I have learned two things about blogging:
1--It's no fun without pictures.
2--It's more difficult to get motivated when you are with the people you envision yourself blogging for in the first place!

Here's a recap of the last few weeks:

We made it to Leavenworth, but had a blow-out on the motorcycle trailer en route. Leavenworth is pretty, but old. Lots of trees, history & scary looking buildings (think 1800's prisons, still in use).

We were offered base housing, circa 1880. We found other housing. Large yard, house over 2000 SF, unfinished basement, good neighborhood & school district.

Uneventful trip to Florida via my cousin's wedding in Mississippi. Relaxed for an entire week at the beach. Beautiful weather, pool in backyard, beach crystal clear for several days. One rude lady at the end of the week, but she didn't ruin our trip. Enjoyed the beach wedding and visiting some FL friends.

Arrived in GA and enjoyed a week with Paula. Waterpark, movies, a fort in the woods and lots of time with the Barbie dolls. A kid's dream.

Had family portraits made in Cartersville on Friday. Will post the info as soon as they are online. We used the same photographer that Cope and Tara use, so I am expecting beautiful results. After photos, we went to the Natural Science Museum, Tellus, and it was GREAT. Spent the rest of the day at the pool with Cope, Tara and Ramsey. Had a delicious supper at their house with them & mom & dad. Saw them AGAIN on Sunday in Bowdon. What a treat.

We are now at Larry's and looking forward to a week being spoiled here.

Derick and I go to Leavenworth (from now on, Lworth) on Saturday and will set up house. I am returning to retrieve the girls & mom will drive back with us no earlier than July 10, no later than July 15. And guess what? I will find that cord and post a huge picture post!!!

If you're in GA and you haven't seen us yet, what are you waitin' for??!
