Today was yet another day of "getting back into the routine." With Christmas break, it seems like I have been getting in and out of the routine repeatedly. After getting the girls to school (remember I've had a break for almost a week), I rushed back and forth from the TV to my office closet. Between the inauguration and my pending list of writing goals, the time just flew. Will I ever feel like I am not constantly in a rush?
About 20 minutes before picking up Caroline, I rushed to Wal Mart to buy cherry yogurt for Mattie. I don't go to Wal Mart often, so I didn't know they had the elusive cherry yogurt for which we have been "searching" since October. I use the word "searching" lightly since we hadn't even checked at Wal Mart!! Anyway, she and Nana had discovered the yogurt & I couldn't stand for Mattie to go one more day without it.
After picking up Caroline, there was playtime outside, a failed attempt at a nap, exercise and then, after Mattie got home and ate her yogurt, more outside playtime. And homework, then supper, bath, reading. WHEW. And do you know that the inaugural events are STILL going on? I am sure that the Obamas (poor Michelle, who let her wear that white dress?) are discussing how exhausted they are each time they are required to dance at yet another ball. I must say here that I am surprised that they are doing the high school slow dance. Did I miss the fancy ballroom stuff? Anywho--what a task to start work as the President after a day like today.
As I reread this, I am thinking...hmmm...I felt rushed. Do you think the Obamas felt rushed? The Former President Bush didn't appear rushed at all as he addressed a crowd at his ranch in Texas. He looked truly relaxed and relieved to be done with it all! I think I enjoyed his speech as much as anything else I saw.
Enough! I am rattling on now, slightly insane from too much inaugural who-ha.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who wasn't wild about that white dress! She's an attractive lady...she could've worn a really smokin' dress...that one? Eh...
