"You look like Mrs. Claus. Expect someone to mention that to you tonight."
One of the fun things about having girls is the readily available fashion advice. Last night Derick & I went out for a grown-up evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had some brand new clothes and was trying to decide on my favorite combination. I had white cords & was trying to choose between a red sweater and a black sweater.
Mattie chose the red & white and then made the statement about Mrs. Claus. Wait, isn't Mrs. Claus "older", with white hair and maybe a little on the fluffy side? Not sure this was a complement. But then I thought, Christmas makes such an impression on children. They see the fun in everything and don't really get caught up on the details. Maybe it was a complement after all.
Mattie is an endless source for stories. I bought her two new gowns at Gymboree this week. While the babysitter was here last night, she tried to wear one of them. The gown was too big. Knowing that she would be asleep when I got home, she left me a detailed note, with pictures, about how the gown was too large. She also placed the gown, folded, above the picture note with instructions for me to "look up for gown." She even tried it on for me this morning informing me that when she wears it "Belle Fashion" (off the shoulder like Belle in Beauty and the Beast,) "it just "falls right off." Yes, it does.
Now, let me update you on that vacuum. I used it today. Like, really used it to vacuum the whole house and the sofa. I love it. I only got tangled up once or twice and you don't have to tug the canister...it just rolls along behind you. Except in the dining room where there is a little to much furniture and a lot too little space. The "motor powered pet hair brush" really works. Our sofa is Snoopy-hair free. High recommendations for the Kenmore Progressive bright yellow canister vacuum.
Now I wonder, should I vacuum our bedspread? Or should I just vacuum the dogs?
