Snack Time, Comic Book Heros and Phone Consults

As many kids do, Caroline tends to be a lot more adventurous with her eating at school. Often times, we play the "guess what I had for snack today," game. Today, after Mattie & I guessed every snack known to man, she informed us that she had, "Square things, one chip and a square pretzel." She would not expound on the topic. Ahhhh, to think like a child.

Thursday is library day for Mattie. She checked out a book called, "How To Draw Comic Book Heros." She has already worked her way through 3 of the characters, writing an "essay or something" (thank you very much) about each one. She is a much better artist than I ever dreamed of being (seeing as how stick figures are a struggle for me) and I love to see her completely involved with something creative.

I had a phone conference with the writing instructor who is technically responsible for the launch of my freelance writing career. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be back in the working world, but doing it all from home! I have my goals nailed down for 2009 and you can just go ahead and expect more surprises from my work in the future. I am doing exactly what I should be doing and loving almost every minute of it.

Derick is working, working, working...good thing we have a break/vacation from the norm next week.
