Today the four of us headed over to the bowling alley.
After a game of Chinese redlight (or garage as the case may be since the van had a very flat tire), we drove over in the jeep.
The girls enjoy bowling. Caroline uses the ramp and is totally unaware of scores, winners or anyone else bowling around her.
Mattie is competitive enough to want to win (good luck if Derick is in the game), and old enough to not want to use the ramp. She had a hard time. Once she dropped the ball, several times she ended up in someone else's lane and sadly, she was the only one of us to not get a strike. She persevered and finished both games. I think the bottomless Sprite helped. Sprite is a serious treat for her--I don't remember the last time I allowed her to drink one--so she was able to effectively drown her sorrows.
It was a great family outing. The van now only has 3 tires. Derick will take the flat for a repair tomorrow...but for now, our driveway looks awesome with the 3-wheeled van! I am still in a state of disbelief--typically these types of things only happen when Derick is gone.
One more exciting piece of news...I bought our plane tickets for Disney World yesterday. We will finish the plans and reservations on Monday, but we are going to be at Disney World the weekend of Valentine's! I don't know who's more excited--the adults or the kids. The kids have no idea what to expect, but they are pretty sure it is going to be fun. Derick & I, on the other hand, know exactly what to expect and we KNOW it is going to be awesome.

This Sprite thing makes me giggle, esp. knowing it doesn't even have caffeine! Watch out if somebody ever slips Mattie some Mountain Dew!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you guys--Disney is going to be awesome! We haven't been since right before we got engaged...I'm having withdrawals. Be sure to eat @ L'Original Alfredo di Roma in Epcot. REAL fettucini alfredo, the way it should be. :)
