That Big Bear

Caroline is one of those kids who loves stuffed animals. She surrounds herself with "plush toys" (Mattie's description), whether in the car, in the bed, or eating a meal. In fact, her bed is 50% plush toys and growing.

I just went to check in on the sleepless sisters and Caroline informed me that, "two baby dolls and an elephant aren't enough to help me sleep." I told her to get something else. She sits up in the bed and says, "That big bear should do it."

Chuckling to myself (ok, howling with laughter to myself), I solemnly handed her "that big bear."

Earlier this evening, the four of us enjoyed some reading before bedtime--a nightly ritual, but Derick and I don't normally participate at the same time (usually just one parent does the reading). Tonight, we both did. In fact, Derick was reading a chapter from Junie B. Jones "Aloha-ha" and I felt compelled to act out the scenes as he read. Mattie and I got pretty tickled.

At any rate, Mattie and I both decided that the person we would most like to meet is Barbara Park, author of Junie B. Jones books. She is the most hilarious author I know & I encourage anyone, any age to pick up one of her books and have a really good laugh.

What a great way to end the day after lots and lots of travel agent frustrations earlier in the day!

I wonder if we will have to take that big bear to Disney?

  1. Tell her to take baby monkey instead. That way she has more room for Disney princess souvenirs. Hee hee...I crack me up! OK, the thought of you acting out the scenes from the book cracks me up more. When we come back in March, will you do that for us? ;)
