This truly is a magical place. Every time I would try to argue with Derick while looking at the map, a Disney employee would magically pop up and give us correct directions.
Seriously.
Seriously, we spent the ENTIRE day at the Magic Kingdom. I cannot believe it. We are all loopy and tired and completely worn out.
The day started at the boat dock behind our hotel. We walked up, were the last people to board the boat, and left immediately. It was a quick ride to the Magic Kingdom and we are all very excited when Space Mountain and Cinderella's castle came into view. We turned down Main Street USA and gazed in amazement at Cinderella's Castle. We were just in time for a show featuring all of the princesses and Peter Pan. What luck! A great way to start our day.
As soon as the show was over, we immediately made our way to the Peter Pan ride. The girls (and adults) were thrilled with the first ride of our vacation. Then we hit all the others...It's A Small World, Pooh's Hunny Ride, and more, more, more! Then parades and food and more rides. More, more, more! Mattie and Derick braved Splash Mountain, while Caroline and I were courageous enough to go on Snow White's Scary Adventure. Afterwards, we bought Caroline a Snow White dress and a box full of Snow White figurines.
We ended the night with one last ride at It's a Small World and then watched the fireworks from between the places they were being shot. Caroline almost elbowed me to death as she had both hands over her ears, but was constantly flipping her head back and forth so that she could see all of the fireworks. The boat ride back was quick...once we got two tired girls on board. Just a note here--our children get crazy active when tired.
But we weren't too tired to visit the hotel gift shop. Mattie spent the rest of her money on an Eve (from Wall-E) toy and then we headed to our room--this time without getting lost.
I see that I have a much flatter pillow than last night, so I am anticipating a great night of sleep...
Wait, what is that loud music? A barge is floating by our room and it is lit as a dragon, a whale, a turtle...the magic never stops here!
