If you have never witnessed your children totally exhausted, bring them to Disney. At some time or another today, Caroline and Mattie both short-circuited. I don't blame them--I think Derick and I did, too! At one point, I was convinced Derick was going to book an early flight and head back to ABQ as quickly as possible. That was during the wait for the Jungle Jamboree parade. I think Mattie licked him and Caroline may have dribbled some water from her mouth onto him. On purpose. I missed all of this as I was off riding the Everest Experience. What a great roller coaster. Not as much fun alone, but I am glad I got to ride it.
Our day started with meeting characters, something that both girls enjoy, but Mattie especially loves. It eats up a lot of time, but it is worth it to see the interaction between the characters and the girls. We met Chip & Dale, Donald, Goofy, Brother Bear and the most awaited meeting--Pocahantas. Mattie was thrilled and immediately chose a Pocahantas dress to wear for tomorrow's lunch with the Disney Princesses.
We saw lots and lots of animals. The safari ride is unbelievable. They bring all of the animals into the barns at night. Wow. I can't decide if I had rather tell people that I am a "parader" (someone who performs in parades) or if I am the person who locks the gate after putting away the Rhinoceraus! Both sound very exotic to me.
We also spent a lot of time in Dinoland and I enjoyed a roller coaster ride with Mattie there. We traveled between Asia & Africa several times and went to Rafiki's Place on the train. The train broke down while we were there & since it is the only way in and out, it took a while to get out. However, Caroline loved the petting zoo. She also decided she needed to go to the bathroom as we waited in a very long line for the train to be repaired.
In fact, today was Caroline's "I need to potty," day. We went TWICE during supper, which was a buffet. I have never gotten up from the table so many times in my life. Around this time, Caroline went from tired to crazy and began dancing around the table, hopping on one foot and lying across the chairs whenever one of us would get up and head to the buffet. Luckily, we all got silly with her and were able to make it back to the hotel. By the way, Caroline figured out that we would carry her if she would complain about her knees hurting! I think we will be renting a stroller tomorrow. Whew, she is heavy.
We ended the day in the fabulous heated kiddie pool at the hotel. During which time, Caroline had to go to the bathroom.
This is long and I am exhausted. I hope it makes sense!! Epcot tomorrow...
