It's a drizzly, cool (58 degrees) day here in Pinehurst. Perfect for planting fall veggies.
Despite the fact that the garden has turned into Derick's pet project, the girls and I went ahead and did some planting. I had no idea what I was doing, but I am hoping for the best. I added some very stinky organic liquid fertilizer to the water and into the ground it went, the girls helping me every step of the way.
So we've got some Thyme and Rosemary in the non-irrigated section of the garden (as well as a pot of Cilantro on the inside) . . .
And in the irrigated section: 8 Romaine lettuce plants (back) and 4 broccoli plants (front).
I forgot the potting soil so the pansies will go into the pot tomorrow after church, and the spinach will be ready to plant next weekend. Keep your fingers crossed that something will grow!
Also, in our rogue tomato plant area, we have some tomatoes ripening already! Dad had predicted they would be small variety and so they are. I wonder what we are going to do with a bunch of little tomatoes?! The peppers are also thriving. I am hopeful this little cold snap won't set them back too far!
