Summer 2011 - Part 3

Raleigh is just over an hour away so we spent one Saturday exploring at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. When we headed back to our car, we discovered that we were at the capitol building. As we drove out of the parking lot, we realized that the Governor's Mansion was also in the area. We had a nice tour of the area and look forward to exploring more when the weather is cooler.

The girls and I returned to Bowdon for Founder's Day weekend. Mattie participated in the Historical Society's living history display.

Caroline learned how to shell peas.

On the Monday after Founder's Day, we headed to St. Simon's Island with Grammy and Grampy for one last week of summer vacation fun.

Last week we met friends in Fayetteville and went to a children's museum. Caroline's arm is broken in this picture, but we didn't know it yet! In fact, the way she protected her arm at this museum is what prompted me to get her to the doctor ASAP.
