On Sunday, Mattie attended a princess birthday party. The invitation asked the girls to dress in their favorite princess costume. She was thrilled to have another opportunity to wear her Pocahantas costume in public. It made me really happy that she chose the most rarest of rare costumes to purchase. We had to go the Animal Kingdom for this outfit and I think it is beautiful. As all of the other girls tottered around on dress-up shoes and fussed with their hair, Mattie ran full speed in her bare feet with pink toenails. She did allow me to braid her hair, which made me even happier!
When I arrived to pick up Mattie, the girls had their faces painted. There were lots of hearts, stars and butterflies on the cheeks of the attendees. I was very excited, yet again, to see that Mattie had chosen full-on war paint!
By the time we got home, the face paint seemed to have soaked in and Mattie was on the warpath as documented in this photo!
