Little House...

Spring Break looms and we are planning on seeing some points of interest in Kansas. One thing in particular that we want to check out are the Little House on the Prairie "attractions" in the area. I bought the series of books several years ago and tried to read them to the girls, but I couldn't get anyone interested enough to complete the first book.

I found the audio version of the first book at the library and played it the car while everyone was bored and held captive in their car seats. It worked!! We are now reading the second book together and even Derick is hooked. It is so much fun to read and remember about Laura's adventures. It is even more interesting to read about it when you live in the same state.

I don't think we can finish the series before Spring Break, but hopefully now D and I won't be the only ones who want to see where the little house on the prairie used to be! Actually, I believe the log cabin has been rebuilt by the local historical society, but you probably get my point.

And my mom thought she owned the market on educational family vacations. HA.
