Happy Valentine's Day!

The baking was a success. I only had one re-do. The first batch of brownies stuck to the pan. Boo!

Our Saturday night Valentine's date was a success, too. We had about an hour from the time we arrived near our restaurant until our dinner reservation time. So we went to this pub that we have heard so much about. Here's why. It is at least 3 levels underground, all rock and smoking is very much allowed. No ventilation. At all. Anyway, we were ordering our drinks through the haze of cig smoke when the guy on the "stage" made an announcement. His friends were about to get married. Right there. Under the ground in the rock bar with no ventilation. Surprisingly, they were people, not moles. We got to watch a wedding at a bar on VDay. The bride was lovely in her jeans (hole in back pocket) and the groom looked great, too. The preacher was about 90 and had a posse of assistants who passed her her flashlight and other accouterments. Wow.

We proceeded at our designated time to this way cool restaurant. We entered through the back per directions on the front door. We walked from outside directly into the kitchen and then navigated these steep and rickety steps (D refers to them as the ladder) and went to our seats on the glassed-in porch. I am certain our full-on cigarette smoke smell was offensive! LOTS of people in a small space. But the food was delicious and I was so happy to be with my Valentine.

Today, we headed to church. The girls were so pretty in their matching dresses! It snowed before and during church, but began to stick late in the afternoon. I LOVE SNOW. It is just beautiful. HOWEVER, evening activities at church were not cancelled. Not fun driving. I am Southern through-and-through when it comes to driving in the snow (ice) and it showed tonight. Happy to be home. Happy my hubby is cooking me yet another fabulous Valentine's meal and happy that he and the girls will be tent-camping in the basement this evening since their planned camping trip got snowed and winded out.

PS--I PROMISE that I will post pictures the next time I blog.
