Teddy Bear Fair!

I had the pleasure of attending the Teddy Bear Fair with the 1st graders from Pinehurst Elementary. Below is a picture of Caroline's class with the teddy bear. While at the fair, hosted by Moore Regional Hospital, the kids learned how to stitch up a teddy bear (using staples), they learned about x-rays, heard a talk from an ambulance driver and much more. It was really neat.

After successfully putting the staples in the bear's leg, the kids got a surgical cap!

The hospital is near the school, so we walked. We did have to cross a major road, so the school arranged for the police to help us cross. We had not one, not two, but 4 police cars escorting us from the school to the hospital! Only in a small town. I love it here.
