Indoor Sky Diving!

Mattie's friend celebrated her 10th birthday with a trip to the indoor skydiving center. She invited Mattie to go along for the adventure.

First, let me say how pleased I am that she chose MATTIE. Mattie has only lived here a few months, and I think it speaks volumes of Mattie's personality that she is able to make friends everywhere we go.

Secondly, I am so proud of Mattie for following through with the indoor skydiving!! Ava and Mattie attended a class to learn how to use their bodies during the "dive." After the class, she was REALLY nervous, but she suited up and she did it. Now I think she may be an addict.

Huge fans are recirculating air through this vertical wind tunnel. The fan operator could increase or decrease the wind speed for each person and for each "dive." Mattie had two turns, each lasting 1 minute. These pictures are from her first turn.

On the second turn, the instructor held on to Mattie's arm and leg on one side of her body, they increased the fan speed & shot up to the top of the tower then came back to the bottom & did it again, several times. The smile on her face was huge!
