For the last two years, I have been lucky enough to attend a writers' retreat with friends I met through an online class. This group of women is phenomenal. All moms, all writers, all kind and intelligent ladies.
Last year we went to a cabin in Michigan. This year we went to a cabin in Washington State. It was wildly beautiful and so different from the beaches on the Gulf and East coasts.

Above: the cabin we stayed in was built by a group of siblings. One of our members is married to one of the siblings' son. The second floor had a killer view of the Pacific Ocean.
Isn't that pretty? So wild and untouched. There were shells all over the place. We also saw lots of deer, though not on the beach.

The weather actually cooperated really well. We all shed those coats by the end of the walk. The wellies came in handy, though!!
Very cool! How fun.
