Well, it happened. I had a birthday, and I'm 40. Lucky for me I don't feel any different than when I was 39! This birthday celebration was one of the best ever. Here I am on the morning of October 1 with my family. I could never wish to be a day younger - I am so happy right where I am!
When Derick asked me what I "wanted" for my birthday, I told him I wanted to see my friends, all in one place. I never imagined he would make it happen. Of course, there were lots of important (to me) people who couldn't make it, but 6 people were able to come to my house for a party. Tammy arrived on Friday night from Georgia . . .
Kat and Julie drove down from D.C. and Maryland . . .
Kate flew up from ATL. Andrea and Liz (local friends) also attended. Somehow I don't have a group shot, but some of these people better send me their pictures SOON.
We all went to dinner at Theo's in Pinehurst. Afterwards, we sat around the fire pit talking and giggling. It was a GREAT birthday.
